Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center
Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center (EMRMC) is a non-profit hospital located in Danville, Kentucky. It is named after Ephraim McDowell, a pioneer in abdominal surgery. The hospital is part of the larger Ephraim McDowell Health system, which provides a wide range of healthcare services to the central Kentucky region.

The Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center was established in 1887. It was originally known as the Danville and Boyle County Hospital. The hospital was renamed in honor of Dr. Ephraim McDowell in 1946. Over the years, the hospital has expanded its services and facilities to meet the growing healthcare needs of the region.

EMRMC offers a comprehensive range of medical services. These include emergency medicine, cardiology, orthopedics, oncology, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, surgery, and rehabilitation services. The hospital also provides specialized services such as radiology, pathology, and anesthesiology.

The hospital campus includes a main hospital building, a cancer center, a heart center, and several outpatient clinics. The main hospital building houses the emergency department, intensive care unit, and surgical suites. The cancer center provides chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and other cancer treatments. EMRMC is affiliated with several educational institutions for the training of medical students, residents, and fellows. These include the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, Eastern Kentucky University, and Centre College.

EMRMC has received numerous awards and recognitions for its quality of care. These include the American Heart Association's Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award and the American College of Cardiology's NCDR Chest Pain ̶ MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award.
