The Harvard Radcliffe Institute was established in 1999 following the merger of Radcliffe College with Harvard University. Radcliffe College was originally founded in 1879 as a women's college affiliated with Harvard. The merger aimed to integrate Radcliffe's resources and mission into Harvard's broader academic framework.
