The Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) is headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, but extends its reach across multiple campuses including Terre Haute, Bloomington, Fort Wayne, Gary, Muncie, South Bend, and West Lafayette. As a leading medical school in the state, it has been instrumental in producing skilled medical professionals through its esteemed M.D. program.

Indiana University School of Medicine underwent a series of mergers to enhance its educational capabilities and resources. In 1907, it amalgamated with the State College of Physicians and Surgeons. Further solidifying its standing in the medical community, it merged with Indiana Medical College in 1908.
