The Kajang Hospital, also known as Hospital Kajang, is a government-funded district hospital located in Kajang, Hulu Langat District, Selangor, Malaysia. It was founded in 1889 and has grown over the years to accommodate the increasing population and healthcare needs of the area. The hospital currently has 306 beds.

History

The hospital was established in 1889, coinciding with the founding of the town of Kajang. It was initially built on a 16-acre land, approximately 30 km northeast of Kuala Lumpur.

As Kajang town and Hulu Langat district developed, the hospital expanded its facilities. In the 1970s, it had 250 beds, which has now increased to 306 beds.

Several buildings have been added to the hospital over the years. The first permanent building, constructed in 1910, still stands today. In 1976, a 4-storey block was added, followed by the food preparation block in 1983, the morgue in 1985, and the pathology unit in 1992.

Under the Hospital Redevelopment Project Phase 2, a new building was completed in 1999. This building, funded by the Asian Development Bank, includes labor wards, a neonatal unit, operating theaters, an intensive care unit, a pediatric block, and a rehabilitation block.

Administration

The hospital is managed by a Director, who is supported by the management and services unit. The Director reports to the State Health Deputy Director (Medical services) and the Selangor State Health Director.

The hospital has various departments and units that provide comprehensive healthcare services to the community.
