List of beverages
Beverages are liquids intended for human consumption. They are consumed to quench thirst, as well as for their nutritional values and social functions. The list of beverages is extensive and includes both non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks.
Non-Alcoholic Beverages[edit | edit source]
Non-alcoholic beverages, also known as soft drinks, are drinks that typically contain less than 0.5% alcohol by volume.
Water[edit | edit source]
Water is the most essential and common beverage. It is often consumed for hydration and is a key ingredient in many other beverages.
Coffee[edit | edit source]
Coffee is a brewed drink prepared from roasted coffee beans. It is one of the most popular beverages worldwide due to its stimulating effect.
Tea[edit | edit source]
Tea is an aromatic beverage commonly prepared by pouring hot or boiling water over cured leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. There are many types of tea, including green tea, black tea, and oolong tea.
Juice[edit | edit source]
Juice is a drink made by extracting the liquids from fruits and vegetables. It is often consumed for its nutritional value.
Alcoholic Beverages[edit | edit source]
Alcoholic beverages are drinks that contain ethanol, a type of alcohol produced by fermentation of grains, fruits, or other sources of sugar.
Beer[edit | edit source]
Beer is one of the oldest and most widely consumed alcoholic drinks in the world. It is usually made from cereal grains—most commonly from malted barley, though wheat, maize (corn), and rice are also used.
Wine[edit | edit source]
Wine is an alcoholic drink typically made from fermented grapes or other fruits. There are many types of wine, including red wine, white wine, and rose wine.
Spirits[edit | edit source]
Spirits are strong alcoholic beverages produced by distillation of a mixture produced from alcoholic fermentation. This process purifies it and removes diluting components like water, for the purpose of increasing its proportion of alcohol content.
