A restaurateur is a person who opens and runs restaurants professionally. Although over time the term has come to describe any person who owns a restaurant, traditionally it refers to a highly skilled professional who is proficient in all aspects of the restaurant business.

Gordon Ramsay[edit | edit source]

Gordon Ramsay is a British chef, restaurateur, television personality, and writer. He was born in Johnstone, Scotland, and raised in Stratford-upon-Avon, England. His restaurants have been awarded 16 Michelin stars in total and currently hold a total of seven.

Wolfgang Puck[edit | edit source]

Wolfgang Puck is an Austrian-American chef, restaurateur, and actor. Born in Sankt Veit an der Glan, Carinthia, Austria, Puck moved to the United States in 1973. His flagship restaurant, Spago, opened in 1982 in West Hollywood, California.

Danny Meyer[edit | edit source]

Danny Meyer is a New York City restaurateur and the CEO of the Union Square Hospitality Group. Meyer's first restaurant, Union Square Cafe, opened in 1985 and its success led to the creation of other restaurants in the city.
