Murray Edwards College, Cambridge

Murray Edwards College, Cambridge is a women's college of the University of Cambridge. Founded in 1954 as New Hall, the college was renamed in 2008 following a donation from alumna Ros Edwards and her husband Steve Edwards. It is one of the only two women's colleges remaining at the University of Cambridge, the other being Newnham College.

Murray Edwards College was established in 1954, originally under the name New Hall. The college was conceived in response to the increasing demand for women's higher education in the post-war period. It was renamed Murray Edwards College in 2008 to honor the significant financial contributions made by Ros and Steve Edwards, which have supported the college's development and expansion.

The main building, known as the Dome, was designed by architects Chamberlin, Powell and Bon, who are also noted for their work on the Barbican Centre in London.
