Peyton Barber
Peyton Barber (born June 27, 1994) is an American football running back who is currently a free agent. He played college football at Auburn University and was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2016.
Early life and high school[edit | edit source]
Barber was born in Alpharetta, Georgia. He attended Milton High School, where he played high school football. During his senior year, he rushed for 1,700 yards and 22 touchdowns, earning him a spot in the Georgia All-State Team.
College career[edit | edit source]
Barber committed to play college football at Auburn University. In his redshirt sophomore season in 2015, he became the starting running back for the Auburn Tigers football team. He finished the season with 1,017 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. Following the 2015 season, Barber declared for the NFL Draft.
Professional career[edit | edit source]
Tampa Bay Buccaneers[edit | edit source]
Barber was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent following the 2016 NFL Draft. He made his NFL debut on September 11, 2016, against the Atlanta Falcons. During his time with the Buccaneers, Barber became known for his powerful running style and ability to gain tough yards. In the 2018 season, he became the team's starting running back and finished the season with 871 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns.
Washington Football Team[edit | edit source]
In 2020, Barber signed with the Washington Football Team. He played a key role in the team's running back rotation, contributing both as a runner and a pass protector. Barber scored 4 rushing touchdowns during the 2020 season.
Las Vegas Raiders[edit | edit source]
Barber signed with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2021. He played in a limited role, primarily serving as a backup running back and special teams contributor.
