University of Minnesota Medical School
The University of Minnesota Medical School is a public medical school located in Minneapolis, with a branch for first and second-year students in Duluth, Minnesota. Founded in 1888, it has played a pivotal role in the development and growth of medical education in the state of Minnesota.

The medical school's rich history began in 1888 when the University of Minnesota College of Medicine and Surgery was formed through the merger of the University of Minnesota College of Medicine, St. Paul Medical College, and Minnesota Hospital College. In 1908, it absorbed the Minneapolis College of Physicians and Surgeons. The next year, in 1909, it merged with the College of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery. By 1913, it came to be recognized as the University of Minnesota Medical School.
