Anthony Monaco
Anthony Monaco is an American neuroscientist and geneticist who has served as the 13th President of Tufts University since August 1, 2011. He is known for his research in the fields of neurogenetics and genomics, particularly in relation to autism and language disorders.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Anthony Monaco was born in Wilmington, Delaware. He attended Princeton University, where he earned his B.A. in Biology. He then went on to receive his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Harvard University. Following his doctoral studies, Monaco completed his postdoctoral research at the University of Oxford.
Academic Career[edit | edit source]
Monaco began his academic career at the University of Oxford, where he held various positions, including Professor of Human Genetics and Head of the Neurogenetics Group at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics. His research primarily focused on identifying the genetic basis of neurological disorders, including autism spectrum disorder and specific language impairment.
