Antidiuretics

From WikiMD's Food, Medicine & Wellness Encyclopedia

Antidiuretics are medications or substances that help to decrease urine production and increase water reabsorption in the body. They are commonly used to treat conditions such as diabetes insipidus, in which the body produces excessive amounts of dilute urine, or to help manage heart failure, in which fluid buildup can occur. Some common antidiuretics include vasopressin, demeclocycline, and thiazide diuretics.
