Green Goblin is a fictional character and a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko and first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #14 in July 1964. The Green Goblin is the alias of several characters, primarily Norman Osborn and his son Harry Osborn, who are archenemies of the superhero Spider-Man.

Norman Osborn is the original Green Goblin. He is a wealthy industrialist and the head of Oscorp. After ingesting a chemical formula, Osborn gains superhuman abilities but also suffers from a psychotic break, leading him to adopt the Green Goblin persona. He becomes obsessed with defeating Spider-Man and is responsible for several significant events in Spider-Man's life, including the death of Gwen Stacy.
