Mount Sinai Morningside is a hospital located in the Morningside Heights neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. It is part of the Mount Sinai Health System and serves as a teaching hospital for the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Mount Sinai Morningside was founded in 1847 as the St. Luke's Hospital. It was established by William Augustus Muhlenberg, a prominent Episcopal priest and educator. The hospital was originally located on Fifth Avenue and later moved to its current location in Morningside Heights in 1896. In 1979, St. Luke's merged with Roosevelt Hospital to form the St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center. In 2013, the hospital became part of the Mount Sinai Health System and was renamed Mount Sinai St. Luke's. In 2020, it was renamed Mount Sinai Morningside to better reflect its location and community.
