Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital (FAAMCH) is a medical school and hospital located in Barpeta, in the state of Assam, India. Established in 2012, it is named after the fifth President of India, Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed.

FAAMCH was established in 2012 as part of an initiative by the Government of India to set up new medical colleges in underserved areas. The college was named after Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed, who served as the President of India from 1974 to 1977 and was a prominent figure in the Indian National Congress during the Indian independence movement.

Campus[edit | edit source]

The campus of FAAMCH is spread over an area of 50 acres. It includes the medical college, the hospital, and residential quarters for staff and students. The college has a central library with a vast collection of books, journals, and e-resources. The hospital has a capacity of 750 beds and offers a wide range of medical services.

FAAMCH offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various medical and paramedical disciplines. The college is affiliated with the Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences and is recognized by the Medical Council of India.

FAAMCH has several departments, including Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine, Community Medicine, General Medicine, Pediatrics, Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases, Dermatology, Psychiatry, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Anesthesiology, Radiodiagnosis, Radiotherapy, and Dentistry.
