Joshua Dobbs (born January 26, 1995) is an American football quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Tennessee Volunteers and was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Early life and high school[edit | edit source]

Dobbs was born and raised in Alpharetta, Georgia. He attended Alpharetta High School, where he excelled in both academics and athletics. During his high school career, Dobbs was a standout quarterback, earning numerous accolades and leading his team to several successful seasons.

College career[edit | edit source]

Dobbs committed to play college football at the University of Tennessee. During his time with the Volunteers, he became known for his dual-threat capabilities, excelling in both passing and rushing. Dobbs was also recognized for his academic achievements, earning the SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year award in 2016.

Professional career[edit | edit source]

Pittsburgh Steelers[edit | edit source]

Dobbs was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He served primarily as a backup quarterback during his time with the team, making occasional appearances in games.

Jacksonville Jaguars[edit | edit source]

In 2019, Dobbs was traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars. He spent one season with the Jaguars, serving as a backup quarterback.

Return to Pittsburgh Steelers[edit | edit source]

Dobbs returned to the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2020, where he continued to serve in a backup role.

Cleveland Browns[edit | edit source]

In 2022, Dobbs signed with the Cleveland Browns. He played in a limited capacity, primarily serving as a backup.

Detroit Lions[edit | edit source]

Later in 2022, Dobbs joined the Detroit Lions, where he again served as a backup quarterback.

Tennessee Titans[edit | edit source]

Dobbs signed with the Tennessee Titans in late 2022. He started two games for the Titans, showcasing his skills as a starting quarterback.

In 2023, Dobbs signed with the Arizona Cardinals, where he currently plays as a quarterback.
