The Yale Daily News (YDN) is the daily student newspaper of Yale University. Established on January 28, 1878, it is the oldest college daily newspaper in the United States. The newspaper is published by undergraduate students at Yale and serves the university community in New Haven, Connecticut.
History[edit | edit source]
The Yale Daily News was founded by a group of Yale students who sought to create a daily publication that would cover campus news and events. Since its inception, the YDN has been a significant part of student life at Yale, providing a platform for student journalism and a training ground for future journalists.
Operations[edit | edit source]
The newspaper is entirely student-run, with students handling all aspects of production, from writing and editing to layout and design. The YDN is published five days a week during the academic year and is distributed free of charge to the Yale community.
