Arnold A. Saltzman Institute of War and Peace Studies

The Arnold A. Saltzman Institute of War and Peace Studies (SIWPS) is a research institute at Columbia University in New York City. It is part of the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) and focuses on the study of international relations, security, and conflict resolution.

The institute was founded in 1951 by Dwight D. Eisenhower, who was then the president of Columbia University. It was originally named the Institute of War and Peace Studies (IWPS). In 2003, it was renamed in honor of Arnold A. Saltzman, a diplomat and philanthropist who made significant contributions to the field of international relations.
