Fruit Brute
Fruit Brute[edit | edit source]
Fruit Brute is a discontinued breakfast cereal that was produced by the General Mills company. It was first introduced in 1974 and was known for its fruity flavor and colorful marshmallow shapes. Although it is no longer available, Fruit Brute has gained a cult following and is often remembered as one of the iconic cereals of the 1970s.
History[edit | edit source]
Fruit Brute was created as a spin-off of the popular cereal brand, Count Chocula. It was introduced in 1974 along with another spin-off called Yummy Mummy. Fruit Brute featured fruit-flavored cereal pieces in the shape of various fruits, such as bananas, oranges, and grapes. The cereal also included colorful marshmallow shapes, including ghosts and werewolves.
Despite its initial popularity, Fruit Brute was discontinued in 1983 due to declining sales. The cereal was briefly revived in 2013 as a limited edition Halloween cereal, but it has not been produced since then.
Legacy[edit | edit source]
Although Fruit Brute was not as long-lasting as some other cereals, it has gained a dedicated fan base over the years. Many people remember the unique fruity flavor and the fun marshmallow shapes. The cereal has been featured in various pop culture references, including appearances in movies and TV shows.
