John and Carol Kuntz founded Andy's Frozen Custard after a vacation to Wisconsin, where they first tasted frozen custard and decided to bring it to the Midwest. The first store was opened in Osage Beach, Missouri in 1986. The business was named after their son, Andy Kuntz, who is now the company's president.

Andy's Frozen Custard sells a variety of frozen custard treats, including cones, sundaes, and milkshakes. The custard is made fresh every hour and is served within an hour of being made. The company prides itself on using only the finest ingredients, including real cream and eggs.

Since its founding, Andy's Frozen Custard has expanded to over 85 locations in 14 states, including Missouri, Illinois, Texas, and Florida. The company plans to continue its expansion, with a goal of having 200 stores by 2022.

Andy's Frozen Custard has received numerous awards and recognition for its quality products and service. In 2015, it was named "Best Dessert" in the Springfield, Missouri area by 417 Magazine.
