Carolyn I. Rodriguez
Carolyn I. Rodriguez is an American psychiatrist and neuroscientist known for her research on obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and related conditions. She is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University and the Director of the Translational Therapeutics Lab.

Rodriguez received her Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She then earned her Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Harvard Medical School. Following her medical degree, she completed her residency in psychiatry at the Columbia University Medical Center. Rodriguez also holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in neuroscience from Rockefeller University.
Research and Career[edit | edit source]
Rodriguez's research focuses on understanding the neurobiological mechanisms underlying OCD and developing novel treatments for the disorder. Her work has contributed to the understanding of the role of the glutamate system in OCD and the development of rapid-acting treatments for the condition.
At Stanford, Rodriguez leads the Translational Therapeutics Lab, where her team uses a combination of neuroimaging, pharmacology, and behavioral science to study OCD and related disorders. Her research has been published in numerous scientific journals, and she has received several awards for her contributions to the field of psychiatry.

Rodriguez has been recognized with several awards, including the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) Outstanding Resident Award and the American Psychiatric Association (APA) Research Colloquium for Junior Investigators Award.
