Esthioneuroblastoma is a type of cancer that arises in the smell neurons and stage C is the one that has spread through the nasal sinuses to nearby tissue. This area is near the bone that separates the nasal cavity from the brain. These tissues are involved in the sense of smell. Esthesioneuroblastoma may spread from the nasal cavity to the bone around the eyes, the sinuses, the front part of the brain, or the lymph nodes in the neck.

Incidence[edit | edit source]

It is the most common type of nasal cavity tumor in children, especially in teens. A rare type of cancer that forms in the tissues of the upper part of the nasal cavity (space inside the nose).

Staging system[edit | edit source]

The most common staging system for esthesioneuroblastoma is the Kadish staging system.

Stages[edit | edit source]

Stages are given as the letters A, B, C and D.

Also called olfactory neuroblastoma.
