Mona Penelope Simpson is a recurring fictional character in the animated television series The Simpsons. She is the mother of Homer Simpson and the estranged wife of Abraham Simpson. Mona is voiced by Glenn Close in most of her appearances.

Mona Simpson is introduced in the episode "Mother Simpson". She is depicted as a loving and caring mother who was forced to leave her family when Homer was a child.
