Pea milk

Pea milk is a type of plant milk made using peas. It is a popular alternative to dairy milk and is often chosen for its high protein content and environmentally friendly production process.

Pea milk was first introduced to the market in the 2010s as a new addition to the growing list of plant-based milk alternatives. The first commercial pea milk brand, Ripple Foods, was launched in 2015.

Pea milk is made by grinding yellow peas into a flour, then mixing the flour with water. The mixture is then strained to remove the pulp, leaving behind a liquid that is rich in protein. This liquid is then blended with other ingredients such as sunflower oil, sea salt, and natural flavors to create the final product.

Pea milk is known for its high protein content, which is comparable to that of dairy milk. It is also typically fortified with vitamins and minerals such as vitamin D and calcium. Unlike many other plant milks, pea milk is often free of common allergens such as soy, nuts, and gluten.

The production of pea milk is considered to be more environmentally friendly than that of dairy milk. This is due to the fact that peas require less water and land to grow than dairy cows, and they also produce fewer greenhouse gas emissions.
