Stoney Cove

Stoney Cove is a popular inland diving site in the United Kingdom. It is located in the village of Stoney Stanton, in Leicestershire, England. The site has a varied topography and is known for its clear waters, making it a favorite among both novice and experienced divers.

Stoney Cove began as a granite quarry in the 1850s. It was later flooded to form a lake when the quarry hit a spring. The site was used for commercial diving training from the 1960s and was opened to recreational divers in 1978. Today, it is one of the most visited inland diving sites in the UK.

Stoney Cove has a maximum depth of 36 meters and features a range of submerged attractions. These include two aircraft, a British Aerospace 146 and a Cessna 310, as well as a number of boats and a bus. The site also has a variety of fish species, including pike, perch, and roach.

The site offers a range of facilities for divers, including air and nitrox filling stations, equipment hire, and a dive shop. There is also a bar and restaurant on site, known as the Waterside Inn.
