Cinnaholic is a U.S.-based bakery franchise specializing in gourmet cinnamon rolls and other vegan desserts. Founded in 2010 by Shannon and Florian Radke, Cinnaholic gained national attention after appearing on the television show Shark Tank in 2014. The company is headquartered in Berkeley, California, and has expanded to numerous locations across the United States and Canada.
History[edit | edit source]
Cinnaholic was founded in 2010 in Berkeley, California, by Shannon and Florian Radke. The couple, both passionate about veganism and entrepreneurship, sought to create a bakery that offered high-quality, plant-based desserts. Their flagship product, the cinnamon roll, is made with vegan ingredients, including dairy-free cream cheese frosting and a variety of toppings.
In 2014, Cinnaholic appeared on the television show Shark Tank, where they pitched their business to a panel of investors. Although they initially accepted an offer from investor Robert Herjavec, the deal was not finalized. Despite this, the exposure from the show significantly boosted their brand recognition and led to increased interest in franchising opportunities.
Products[edit | edit source]
Cinnaholic's menu primarily features customizable cinnamon rolls, which customers can personalize with a variety of frostings and toppings. All products are 100% vegan, meaning they are free from animal products such as dairy and eggs. The bakery offers a wide range of frosting flavors, including classic cream cheese, chocolate, and caramel, as well as toppings like fresh fruit, nuts, and cookie dough.
In addition to cinnamon rolls, Cinnaholic also offers other vegan desserts, such as brownies, cookies, and "baby buns"—miniature versions of their signature cinnamon rolls.
Franchising[edit | edit source]
Since its inception, Cinnaholic has expanded through franchising. The company offers franchise opportunities to entrepreneurs interested in opening their own Cinnaholic locations. As of 2023, Cinnaholic has over 50 locations across the United States and Canada, with plans for further expansion.
Veganism and Sustainability[edit | edit source]
Cinnaholic is committed to promoting veganism and sustainability. By using plant-based ingredients, the company aims to provide delicious alternatives to traditional desserts that are more environmentally friendly and ethically produced. The company also emphasizes the importance of reducing waste and sourcing ingredients responsibly.
