The reproductive system of males consist of the testes, prostate gland, penis and the hormonal control related to male sexuality. The male reproductive system plays a pivotal role in human reproduction and consists of a group of organs located outside the body in the pelvic region. These organs function in the production, storage, and transportation of sperm and semen, as well as in the production of sex hormones.

Anatomy[edit | edit source]

The primary anatomical components of the male reproductive system are:

  • Testes: These are oval organs where sperm and testosterone are produced.
  • Epididymis: A coiled tube at the back of each testicle where sperm mature and are stored.
  • Vas Deferens: Tubes that transport mature sperm to the urethra.
  • Seminal Vesicles: Glands that produce a significant portion of the semen.
  • Prostate Gland: Produces a fluid that mixes with seminal fluid to create semen.
  • Urethra: The tube through which urine and semen exit the body, though not simultaneously.
  • Penis: The male organ used in sexual intercourse.

Birth Control[edit | edit source]

Male birth control methods primarily focus on preventing the release of sperm during ejaculation:
