National Immunization Technical Advisory Group

National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (NITAG) is a public health organization that provides technical guidance on immunization to national health authorities. NITAGs are established by governments to ensure that decisions about vaccine introduction and immunization policies are evidence-based and transparent.

The concept of NITAGs was first proposed by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1991. The WHO recognized the need for each country to have an independent group of experts who could provide advice on immunization based on the specific needs and circumstances of the country. Since then, many countries have established their own NITAGs.
