Tachysystle is a type of heart beat where there are greater than 5 heart contractions in 10 minutes averaged over a 30 minute window seen on cardiotocography.

Cardiotocography (CTG) is a means of recording the fetal heartbeat and the uterine contractions during pregnancy.

Other names[edit | edit source]

The machine used to perform the monitoring is called a cardiotocograph, otherwise known as an electronic fetal monitor (EFM).
