The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a country in Western Asia located at the eastern end of the Arabian Peninsula. It borders Oman to the east and Saudi Arabia to the south and west, and it shares maritime borders with Qatar to the west and Iran to the north. The UAE is a federation of seven emirates, consisting of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Fujairah, and Ras Al Khaimah.

The area now known as the United Arab Emirates has been inhabited for thousands of years. The region was influenced by various civilizations, including the Persian Empire, the Islamic Caliphates, and the Portuguese Empire. In the 19th century, the area became known as the Trucial States under British protection. The UAE was established on December 2, 1971, following the end of British treaties.
Government and Politics[edit | edit source]
The UAE is a federal monarchy composed of seven emirates, each governed by its own monarch. The President is the head of state, and the Prime Minister is the head of government. The Federal National Council serves as an advisory body.
