ZDCM-04

From WikiMD's Wellness Encyclopedia

ZDCM-04 is a research chemical in the benzodiazepine class. It is one of a series of compounds related to Diazepam, which includes agents such as Flunitrazepam, Clonazepam, and Ro5-4864.

Chemistry[edit | edit source]

ZDCM-04 is a benzodiazepine derivative. Benzodiazepines are a class of drugs with a basic chemical structure of a benzene ring fused to a diazepine ring. The benzodiazepine ring system has been modified in various ways to give a wide range of different drugs with varying potency, duration of action, and metabolic stability.

Pharmacology[edit | edit source]

Like other benzodiazepines, ZDCM-04 acts as a positive allosteric modulator of the GABA-A receptor, the major inhibitory neurotransmitter receptor in the brain. This enhances the inhibitory effects of GABA, leading to sedative, anxiolytic, muscle relaxant, and amnesic effects.

Legal Status[edit | edit source]

The legal status of ZDCM-04 varies by country. In many jurisdictions, it is classified as a controlled substance due to its potential for abuse and dependence. However, as a research chemical, it may be legally obtained for research purposes under certain conditions.
