iOS 10 is the tenth major release of the iOS mobile operating system developed by Apple Inc., succeeding iOS 9. It was announced at the company's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 13, 2016, and was released on September 13, 2016. iOS 10 includes numerous new features and improvements over its predecessor.

iOS 10 introduced several new features and enhancements, including:

User Interface[edit | edit source]

  • Lock Screen: The lock screen was redesigned with a new "Raise to Wake" feature, which automatically turns on the screen when the device is lifted. Notifications on the lock screen are now more interactive, allowing users to respond to messages and interact with apps directly from the lock screen.
  • Control Center: The Control Center was redesigned with a new layout and additional functionality, including a dedicated music control panel.
