List of iPhone models

List of iPhone models is a comprehensive catalog of all the smartphone models that have been released by Apple Inc. since the inception of the iPhone in 2007. The iPhone is a line of smartphones designed and marketed by Apple Inc. that use Apple's iOS mobile operating system.

First Generation iPhone[edit | edit source]

The first generation iPhone was released on June 29, 2007. It was a revolutionary product that introduced the concept of a touchscreen interface to the masses.

iPhone 3G[edit | edit source]

The iPhone 3G was released on July 11, 2008. It introduced 3G network capabilities and was the first iPhone model to use the App Store, a digital distribution platform for iOS applications.

iPhone 3GS[edit | edit source]

The iPhone 3GS was released on June 19, 2009. It introduced video recording capabilities and voice-controlled operation through the Siri virtual assistant.

iPhone 4[edit | edit source]

The iPhone 4 was released on June 24, 2010. It introduced the Retina Display, a high-resolution screen, and the FaceTime video chat service.

iPhone 4S[edit | edit source]

The iPhone 4S was released on October 14, 2011. It introduced the Siri virtual assistant and was the first iPhone model to be available on more than one U.S. carrier.

iPhone 5[edit | edit source]

The iPhone 5 was released on September 21, 2012. It introduced a larger 4-inch display and the Lightning connector.

iPhone 5C and 5S[edit | edit source]

The iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S were released on September 20, 2013. The 5C was a lower-cost model with a plastic casing, while the 5S introduced the Touch ID fingerprint recognition system.

iPhone 6 and 6 Plus[edit | edit source]

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were released on September 19, 2014. They introduced larger 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays, respectively, and the Apple Pay mobile payment service.

iPhone 6S and 6S Plus[edit | edit source]

The iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus were released on September 25, 2015. They introduced the 3D Touch pressure-sensitive display technology.

iPhone SE (1st generation)[edit | edit source]

The first generation iPhone SE was released on March 31, 2016. It was a smaller, cheaper alternative to the larger iPhone models.

iPhone 7 and 7 Plus[edit | edit source]

The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus were released on September 16, 2016. They introduced water and dust resistance, and removed the 3.5 mm headphone jack.

iPhone 8 and 8 Plus[edit | edit source]

The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus were released on September 22, 2017. They introduced wireless charging and a glass back.

iPhone X[edit | edit source]

The iPhone X was released on November 3, 2017. It introduced a new design with a nearly bezel-less OLED display, facial recognition known as Face ID, and removed the home button.

iPhone XR, XS and XS Max[edit | edit source]

The iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max were released on September 12, 2018. The XR was a lower-cost model with an LCD display, while the XS and XS Max featured OLED displays and up to 512 GB of storage.

iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max[edit | edit source]

The iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max were released on September 20, 2019. They introduced a new ultra-wide camera and a night mode for better low-light photography.

iPhone SE (2nd generation)[edit | edit source]

The second generation iPhone SE was released on April 15, 2020. It has the same form factor as the iPhone 8 but with upgraded internals.

iPhone 12 Mini, 12, 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max[edit | edit source]

The iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max were released on October 13, 2020. They introduced 5G capabilities and a new design reminiscent of the iPhone 4.

iPhone 13 Mini, 13, 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max[edit | edit source]

The iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max were released on September 14, 2021. They introduced smaller notches, ProMotion 120Hz refresh rate displays on the Pro models, and up to 1TB of storage on the Pro models.
