Sanatoga, Pennsylvania
Sanatoga, Pennsylvania is a census-designated place (CDP) located in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. The population was 8,378 at the 2010 census. It is a part of the Pottsgrove School District.
Geography[edit | edit source]
Sanatoga is located at 40°14′59″N 75°35′15″W (40.249722, -75.587500). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 3.6 square miles (9.3 km²), all of it land.
Demographics[edit | edit source]
As of the census of 2000, there were 7,734 people, 3,219 households, and 2,120 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 2,158.6 people per square mile (833.6/km²). There were 3,385 housing units at an average density of 944.1/sq mi (364.4/km²).
Education[edit | edit source]
Sanatoga is served by the Pottsgrove School District. Schools in the district include Pottsgrove High School, Pottsgrove Middle School, and three elementary schools.
Transportation[edit | edit source]
Sanatoga is served by several major roads, including U.S. Route 422 (Benjamin Franklin Highway), which provides connection to King of Prussia and Reading.
Notable people[edit | edit source]
- John Hartranft, recipient of the Medal of Honor for his actions in the American Civil War, was born in Sanatoga.
