Finlandia vodka

From WikiMD's Wellness Encyclopedia

Finlandia Vodka is a brand of vodka produced in Finland from Finnish-grown six-row barley and glacial spring water. The brand is owned by the Brown-Forman Corporation.

History[edit | edit source]

Finlandia Vodka was established in 1970 by Alko, a Finnish state-owned company. It was the first Scandinavian vodka to be sold internationally. The brand was sold to the Brown-Forman Corporation in 2000.

Production[edit | edit source]

The production of Finlandia Vodka begins with the cultivation of six-row barley. The harsh Finnish winters contribute to the hardiness of the grain, which is sown in the spring and harvested in the fall. The barley is then combined with pure glacial spring water to create a mash, which is fermented to produce a raw spirit. This spirit is distilled and filtered to create the final product.

Varieties[edit | edit source]

In addition to the original unflavored vodka, Finlandia Vodka also produces a range of flavored vodkas. These include lime, grapefruit, mango, redberry, wildberry, tangerine, blackcurrant, and cranberry.

Reception[edit | edit source]

Finlandia Vodka has been well received internationally, winning numerous awards for its quality and flavor. It is particularly noted for its smoothness and purity.
