Neuro
Neuro is a term derived from the Greek word "νεῦρον" (neuron), which translates to "nerve". In the context of science and medicine, it is often used as a prefix to denote a relationship with the nervous system. The nervous system is a complex network of nerves and cells, known as neurons, that transmit signals between different parts of the body. It is primarily composed of the central nervous system (CNS) and the peripheral nervous system (PNS).

The field of neuroscience is dedicated to the study of the nervous system and its functions. It is a multidisciplinary branch of biology that combines physiology, anatomy, molecular biology, developmental biology, cytology, mathematical modeling, and psychology to understand the fundamental and emergent properties of neurons and neural circuits.
Neurological Disorders[edit | edit source]
Neurological disorders are diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system. They include brain disorders such as Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and epilepsy. Neurological disorders can affect an entire neurological pathway or a single neuron, leading to a range of symptoms.
Neurology[edit | edit source]
Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurologists may also be involved in clinical research, clinical trials, and basic or translational research.
Neuropsychology[edit | edit source]
Neuropsychology is the study of the structure and function of the brain as they relate to specific psychological processes and behaviors. It is an experimental field of psychology that aims to understand how behavior and cognition are influenced by brain functioning.
Neurosurgery[edit | edit source]
Neurosurgery, or neurological surgery, is the medical specialty concerned with the prevention, diagnosis, surgical treatment, and rehabilitation of disorders which affect any portion of the nervous system.
