Mac OS X Jaguar (version 10.2) is the third major release of macOS, Apple Inc.'s desktop and server operating system for Macintosh computers. It was released on August 23, 2002, and was the successor to Mac OS X v10.1.

Mac OS X Jaguar introduced several new features and improvements over its predecessor:

System Requirements[edit | edit source]

Mac OS X Jaguar required a PowerPC G3, PowerPC G4, or PowerPC G4 Cube processor, 128 MB of RAM, and 3 GB of available hard disk space.

User Interface[edit | edit source]

Jaguar featured a refined Aqua user interface with improved performance and stability. The Finder was enhanced with spring-loaded folders and labels.

Networking and Internet[edit | edit source]

Jaguar included several networking enhancements, such as IPv6 support and IPSec VPN. The Safari web browser was not included in Jaguar but was available as a separate download.
