Ronna McDaniel
Ronna McDaniel (born March 20, 1973) is an American politician and political strategist who has served as the Chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC) since 2017. She is the second woman to hold the position, following Mary Louise Smith.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Ronna Romney McDaniel was born in Austin, Texas, to Ronna Stern Romney and Scott Romney. She is the granddaughter of three-term Michigan Governor George W. Romney and niece of U.S. Senator Mitt Romney. McDaniel graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in English.

Early Career[edit | edit source]
Before entering politics, McDaniel worked in the private sector, including positions at SRCP Media and Walt Disney Company.
Michigan Republican Party[edit | edit source]
McDaniel began her political career as a grassroots activist and quickly rose through the ranks of the Michigan Republican Party. She served as a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 2012 and 2016. In 2015, she was elected Chair of the Michigan Republican Party, where she played a significant role in Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign in Michigan.
Chair of the Republican National Committee[edit | edit source]
In January 2017, McDaniel was elected Chair of the Republican National Committee, succeeding Reince Priebus. Under her leadership, the RNC has focused on fundraising, voter outreach, and supporting Republican candidates across the country. She has been a vocal supporter of President Donald Trump and has worked to align the party's platform with his policies.

Ronna McDaniel is married to Patrick McDaniel, and they have two children. The family resides in Northville, Michigan.
