Keto Mummy Dogs[edit | edit source]
Keto Mummy Dogs are a fun and delicious treat that are perfect for any occasion, but especially for Halloween. They are made with low-carb hot dogs wrapped in a keto-friendly dough, making them a great option for those following a ketogenic diet.
Ingredients[edit | edit source]
- 8 hot dogs
- 1 1/2 cups almond flour
- 1/4 cup coconut flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tbsp cream cheese
- Mustard or keto ketchup for serving
Instructions[edit | edit source]
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, combine the almond flour, coconut flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and set aside.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the mozzarella and cream cheese. Microwave for 1 minute, stir, then microwave for another 30 seconds.
- Add the melted cheese and beaten eggs to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
- Divide the dough into 8 equal parts. Roll each part into a long, thin rope.
- Wrap each hot dog with a rope of dough, leaving a small part of the hot dog exposed for the "mummy's face".
- Place the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes, then use mustard or keto ketchup to make "eyes" on the mummy's face.
