Morocco[edit | edit source]

Keto adaptations of this slow-cooked stew may involve omitting dried fruits and tubers, focusing instead on meats like lamb or chicken, and keto-friendly vegetables.

A hearty soup traditionally made during ramadan, the keto version omits lentils and focuses on tomatoes, celery, herbs, and spices.


  • 500g lamb, cubed
  • 1 cup green olives
  • 1 preserved lemon, finely sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  • In a tagine or heavy-bottomed pot, heat olive oil and brown the lamb cubes.
