Low Carb Moroccan Meatballs[edit | edit source]
Ingredients[edit | edit source]
- 500g of Ground Beef
- 1 Egg
- 1/2 cup of Almond Flour
- 1/2 cup of Parsley, chopped
- 1/2 cup of Cilantro, chopped
- 1 Onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves of Garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon of Cumin
- 1 teaspoon of Paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon of Cayenne Pepper
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons of Olive Oil
- 1 can of Tomato Sauce
- 1/2 cup of Water
- 1 teaspoon of Cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon of Turmeric
Instructions[edit | edit source]
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, egg, almond flour, half of the parsley and cilantro, onion, garlic, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into small meatballs and set aside.
- Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides. Remove the meatballs from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the tomato sauce, water, cinnamon, and turmeric. Stir until well combined.
- Add the meatballs back into the pan and simmer for 20-30 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
- Garnish with the remaining parsley and cilantro before serving.
