Boston Cream Cheesecake Recipe[edit | edit source]

Overview[edit | edit source]

The Boston Cream Cheesecake is a delightful fusion of the classic Boston Cream Pie and the creamy richness of a cheesecake. This dessert features layers of soft sponge cake, creamy vanilla custard filling, and is topped with a luscious chocolate ganache.

Ingredients[edit | edit source]

For the Cake Base[edit | edit source]

  • Sponge cake - 1, pre-made or homemade
  • Butter - 4 tablespoons, melted

For the Custard Filling[edit | edit source]

  • Cream cheese - 16 ounces, softened
  • Granulated sugar - 1 cup
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Eggs - 4, large
  • Heavy cream - 1/4 cup

For the Chocolate Ganache[edit | edit source]

  • Semi-sweet chocolate chips - 1 cup
  • Heavy cream - 1/2 cup

Method[edit | edit source]

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Crumble the sponge cake and mix with melted butter. Press this mixture firmly onto the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form the base.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth and creamy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Pour in the heavy cream and mix until just combined.
  4. Pour this cream cheese mixture over the cake base in the springform pan.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 50 minutes or until the center is almost set. Turn off the oven, and let the cheesecake sit in the oven for another 15 minutes. Remove and let it cool completely.
  6. For the chocolate ganache, heat the heavy cream until it's just about to boil. Pour over chocolate chips and let sit for 5 minutes, then stir until smooth.
  7. Pour the ganache over the cooled cheesecake and spread evenly.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.

Serving Suggestions[edit | edit source]

Slice the cheesecake using a warm knife and serve with a dollop of whipped cream, if desired.
