Game seasoning
Game seasoning is a low carbohydrate / keto friendly food item.
Overview[edit | edit source]
Game Seasoning is a blend of herbs and spices tailored specifically to enhance the flavor profiles of game meats such as venison, rabbit, pheasant, and others. As game meats tend to have a more robust and distinct flavor compared to conventional meats, the seasoning used needs to complement and balance these flavors without overpowering them.
Ingredients[edit | edit source]
While there's no one-size-fits-all recipe, a basic game seasoning might include:
- 2 tbsp paprika
- 2 tbsp salt
- 2 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp dried thyme
- 1 tbsp dried rosemary
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for added heat)
Preparation[edit | edit source]
- Combine all the ingredients in a bowl.
- Mix thoroughly until all the spices are well integrated.
- Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.
Usage[edit | edit source]
Sprinkle the game seasoning generously on the meat before cooking. It can be used for roasting, grilling, braising, or any other cooking method suitable for game meats.
Tips[edit | edit source]
- Always adjust the seasoning according to personal preference. If you prefer a spicier blend, increase the amount of cayenne pepper.
- For a fresh twist, consider adding finely chopped fresh herbs just before applying to the meat.
