  1. In a large pot, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned. Remove the sausage from the pot and set aside.

  3. Add the pumpkin puree, chicken broth, heavy cream, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper to the pot. Stir to combine.
