Keto Croque Madame is a low-carb, high-fat version of the classic French sandwich. This recipe is perfect for those following a keto diet and looking for a delicious and satisfying meal.
Ingredients[edit | edit source]
- 4 slices of keto bread
- 4 slices of ham
- 2 cups of gruyere cheese, grated
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions[edit | edit source]
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Spread the Dijon mustard evenly on each slice of keto bread.
- Place a slice of ham on two of the slices of bread, then top with a generous amount of gruyere cheese.
- Place the other two slices of bread on top to form sandwiches.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and heavy cream. Season with salt and pepper.
- Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, making sure both sides are well coated.
- Place the sandwiches on a baking sheet and bake for about 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown.
- While the sandwiches are baking, fry two eggs in a pan to your desired level of doneness.
- Once the sandwiches are done, top each one with a fried egg. Serve immediately.
