Keto ice cream
Keto ice cream is a low carbohydrate / keto friendly food item.
Overview[edit | edit source]
Keto Ice Cream is a delicious, creamy, low-carbohydrate alternative to traditional ice cream. Made with a base of heavy cream and a keto-friendly sweetener, it provides a delightful treat without breaking one's ketosis.
Ingredients[edit | edit source]
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup keto-friendly sweetener (e.g., erythritol, monk fruit, or stevia)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Optional flavorings: cocoa powder, berries, nut butter, or keto-friendly chocolate chips
Preparation[edit | edit source]
- In a mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, sweetener, and vanilla extract.
- Using an electric mixer, whip the mixture until it slightly thickens.
- Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until you reach a soft-serve consistency.
- If adding optional flavorings, fold them in gently at this stage.
- Transfer the churned ice cream to a lidded container and freeze for at least 2 hours or until firm.
- Before serving, let the ice cream sit out for about 10 minutes to soften slightly.
Serving Suggestions[edit | edit source]
- Serve in a bowl or on a keto-friendly cone.
- Top with keto-friendly sauces like chocolate or caramel.
- Garnish with nuts or berries.
