A delicious and healthy alternative to traditional burgers, the Low Carb Vegetarian Cheese Burger is perfect for those following a keto diet. This recipe is easy to prepare and packed with flavor.
Ingredients[edit | edit source]
- 1 large Portobello mushroom cap
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 slice of cheddar cheese
- 1 lettuce leaf
- 1 slice of tomato
- 1 slice of onion
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 1 low carb bun
Instructions[edit | edit source]
- Preheat the grill to medium heat.
- Brush both sides of the Portobello mushroom cap with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
- Grill the mushroom cap for about 5 minutes on each side, or until tender.
- Place the slice of cheddar cheese on the mushroom cap during the last minute of grilling to allow it to melt.
- Assemble the burger by placing the lettuce leaf on the bottom bun, followed by the tomato and onion slices.
- Top with the grilled mushroom cap and a dollop of mayonnaise.
- Cover with the top bun and serve.
