Rutabaga curls
Rutabaga curls is a low carbohydrate / keto friendly food item.
Overview[edit | edit source]
Rutabaga Curls are a keto-friendly alternative to traditional potato curly fries. Rutabaga, being lower in carbohydrates, offers a slightly sweet and nutty flavor, making it a delightful alternative for those watching their carb intake.
Ingredients[edit | edit source]
- 1 large rutabaga
- 2-3 tbsp of olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: Herbs such as rosemary, thyme, or parsley
Preparation[edit | edit source]
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Peel the rutabaga and use a spiralizer to create thin curls.
- Place the rutabaga curls in a large mixing bowl. Drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt, pepper, and any desired herbs.
- Toss until the curls are well-coated.
- Spread the rutabaga curls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, ensuring they are spread out and not overlapping.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, turning once, or until the curls are crispy and golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly to crisp up further.
Serving Suggestions[edit | edit source]
- Serve the rutabaga curls with Keto Ketchup or a Garlic Aioli Dip.
- They also pair well with a Keto Burger or any grilled meats.
