Spicy Sausage Cabbage Skillet Melt is a delicious, keto-friendly dish that is easy to prepare and packed with flavor. This one-pan meal is perfect for those on a keto diet as it is low in carbs and high in protein and healthy fats.
Ingredients[edit | edit source]
- 1 lb spicy sausage
- 1/2 head of cabbage, chopped
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions[edit | edit source]
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the spicy sausage and cook until browned. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the onion and garlic and sauté until the onion is translucent.
- Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet and cook until it begins to wilt.
- Pour in the chicken broth and stir well, scraping the bottom of the skillet to loosen any browned bits.
- Return the sausage to the skillet and stir to combine.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the skillet.
- Cover the skillet and let it cook for a few minutes until the cheese is melted.
- Serve hot.
