Androstanolone valerate

Androstanolone valerate is a synthetic androgen and anabolic steroid (AAS) that is used in androgen replacement therapy. It is an ester of androstanolone, also known as dihydrotestosterone (DHT), and is administered via intramuscular injection.
Pharmacology[edit]
Mechanism of Action[edit]
Androstanolone valerate acts as a prodrug of dihydrotestosterone, meaning it is converted into active DHT in the body. DHT is a potent androgen that binds to the androgen receptor with high affinity, leading to the activation of androgenic signaling pathways. This results in the development and maintenance of male secondary sexual characteristics and has anabolic effects on muscle and bone tissue.
Administration[edit]
Androstanolone valerate is typically administered by intramuscular injection. The esterification of androstanolone with valeric acid prolongs its duration of action by slowing the release of the active hormone into the bloodstream.
Clinical Uses[edit]
Androstanolone valerate is used in the treatment of conditions associated with androgen deficiency such as hypogonadism in males. It may also be used in certain cases of delayed puberty and to support masculinization in transgender men.
Side Effects[edit]
The side effects of androstanolone valerate are similar to those of other androgens and anabolic steroids. They may include:
