This is a delicious and satisfying keto friendly recipe for Caramelized Onion Bacon Smothered Pork Chops. It's a perfect dish for those who are following a low-carb, high-fat diet.
Ingredients[edit | edit source]
- 4 pork chops
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 4 slices of bacon, chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 cup of chicken broth
- 1/2 cup of heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
Instructions[edit | edit source]
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Season the pork chops with salt and pepper, then add them to the skillet. Cook until browned on both sides, then remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the bacon and cook until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the onions to the skillet and cook until they are caramelized. This should take about 10 minutes.
- Add the garlic to the skillet and cook for another minute.
- Pour in the chicken broth and scrape the bottom of the skillet to deglaze it.
- Return the pork chops and bacon to the skillet, then pour in the heavy cream.
- Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the pork chops are cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
